Not at all! Family & Parent Coaching is versatile and a very inclusive resource that’s designed to support individuals and families from all backgrounds and situations. That includes those who are preparing to become parents.

What’s the difference between a Coach and Therapist?

Most coaches focus on setting and achieving specific goals through active listening, questioning, strategy-making. They clarify goals, create action plans, and provide accountability. Most therapists focus on diagnosing and treating mental health issues and emotional challenges through various therapeutic techniques. They focus on exploring feelings and understanding thoughts.

Coaches complete coaching certification and training programs, while therapists hold licenses or certifications in various areas of psychology, social work, counseling, or psychiatry.

In my coaching practice, I implement many aspects of my medical education in my sessions, such as human physiology, importance of evidence-based practices, communication skills, and empathy.

How long does coaching usually last?

The duration can vary depending on your unique goals and needs. Some families may benefit from a few sessions, while others may prefer ongoing support over a longer period of time.
